A new 114-seat buffet restaurant, Le Bleu Awaji, has opened at Grand Mercure Awaji Island Resort & Spa, a hotel overlooking the Onaruto Bridge and Naruto Strait. Inspired by the beautiful blue of Awaji Island's sea and sky, the restaurant opened on August 1, 2026, and now stands alongside the resort's existing buffet restaurant, Le Sensoriel, bringing the combined seating to 442 and creating a more relaxed dining environment as part of the hotel's all-inclusive stay.
During Silver Week, from Saturday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 23 (a public holiday), 2026, the dinner buffet will feature Awaji beef steak and AWAJI BEER, a craft beer brewed by a local brewery. The hotel is also offering a Silver Week Limited Plan, ideal for family and group trips.
The Concept Behind "Le Bleu Awaji"
Le Bleu is French for blue. Le Bleu Awaji was born from the concept of the beautiful blue of Awaji Island's sea and sky. Window-side seats look out over the horizon beyond the ocean, and the space has a calm atmosphere built around sleek wood tones. Beyond dishes finished at a live kitchen, the restaurant offers a dining experience that lets guests savor the region's charm without hesitation — one of the benefits of an all-inclusive stay.
