Hachikian Marutamachi Introduces Summer-Limited Menu with Kamo Eggplant and Kyoto Duck Starting June 2026

Starting June 1, 2026, Hachikian Marutamachi — a poultry restaurant established in 1970 in Kyoto's Sakyo Ward — will introduce a summer-limited menu. The new lineup highlights Kamo eggplant, a classic summer ingredient of Kyoto, together with carefully sourced Kyoto duck and Kyoto red ground chicken.

Summer-Limited Menu

① Evening: Tori Kaiseki Course

From ¥12,100 (tax included) / 3 courses available / Reservation required

The evening course presents Hachikian's signature poultry dishes as a full kaiseki progression. The summer edition features Kamo eggplant prepared dengaku-style alongside aromatic Kyoto duck, with each dish crafted individually by skilled artisans using locally sourced Kyoto ingredients. Well-suited for celebratory meals and dinner gatherings.

Lunch omakase course

② Lunch: Omakase Course

¥7,700 (tax included) / Reservation required

A lunch-only special course centered on Kyoto red ground chicken. Known for its finely textured meat and deep, rich flavor, the chicken is served alongside fresh Kamo eggplant using Hachikian's traditional seasoning. The course offers an authentic kaiseki experience at midday.

Duck shabu-shabu gozen

③ Lunch: Duck Shabu-Shabu Gozen (New)

¥4,400 (tax included)

A new addition to the summer lunch menu, this gozen set features hand-selected Kyoto duck gently swished through Hachikian's signature golden dashi broth. Presented as a complete gozen meal, it is well-suited for a lunchtime outing. The accompanying vegetables, absorbed in the dashi enriched by the sweetness of duck fat, are equally noteworthy.
