Tanba Sasayama Ikkyuuan (丹波篠山 一休庵), a restaurant in Tanba Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture, is offering botan nabe (wild boar hot pot) courses made with natural wild boar meat and supervised by the long-established ryokan restaurant Kinmata (近又). Two courses are on sale from October 1, 2026, and a new "Taste-Comparison Two-Color Botan Nabe Course" joins them on November 1, bringing the lineup to three courses.
Every course finishes with the restaurant's "100% buckwheat soba," made with buckwheat flour ground in a stone mill on the premises.
This Season's Botan Nabe
Botan nabe is a winter specialty of Tanba Sasayama. At Ikkyuuan, it is served under the supervision of Kinmata, combining carefully selected natural wild boar meat with fresh vegetables grown in the area's rich natural surroundings. The dish has been well received every year.
For this season, the restaurant introduced its first-ever two-color botan nabe in response to customers who wanted to enjoy different flavors at once. Together with the two classic courses, guests can now choose from three plans to suit the occasion and their tastes.
