The lifestyle fragrance brand NONFICTION opened a new store at HAERA, Nagoya's newly launched luxury mall, on June 11, 2026. This is the brand's fourth location in Japan, following stores in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe.
HAERA has been drawing attention as a new landmark in Nagoya. Built around the concept of "PUBLIC MUSEUM," the facility brings together shopping, lifestyle, dining, and culture under one roof. The NONFICTION store sits within this space, translating the brand's philosophy of finding inspiration in everyday life through fragrance and ritual into a physical environment.
A Space Shaped by Aged Zelkova Wood
The Nagoya HAERA store was designed in collaboration with Schemata Architects, led by architect Jo Nagasaka, a firm recognized for its exploration of material essence and spatial design.
The store's defining aesthetic centers on the regeneration of aged wood. Long-preserved zelkova (keyaki) timber serves as the primary material throughout, with its weathered texture, grain patterns, and time-worn character integrated into every corner of the space. The result is a minimal design that reinterprets the history embedded within the wood through a contemporary lens.
A striking carved zelkova log sink stands at the center of the store. The same material appears in wall shelving and display tables, giving the entire space a quietly layered atmosphere.
Fragrance, Art, and Daily Ritual
Visitors to the Nagoya HAERA store can explore NONFICTION's signature fragrances alongside a range of body, hair, and home ritual products. In keeping with HAERA's "PUBLIC MUSEUM" identity, the store also features craft works and objects created in collaboration with Korean artists, weaving fragrance, materials, and art into a single experience.
