Marie Antoinette's Royal Christmas Sweets Buffet at Hilton Hiroshima

Hilton Hiroshima is hosting a winter sweets buffet themed around the elegant world of 18th-century French Queen Marie Antoinette. The "Marie Antoinette's Royal Christmas" buffet runs from November 15 (Sat) to December 28 (Sun), 2025, at the all-day dining restaurant "Mosaic" on the 6th floor.

The buffet features approximately 20 sweets inspired by Marie Antoinette and 9 savory dishes. It will be held every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from November 15 (Sat) to December 28 (Sun), as well as on Christmas Day, December 25 (Thu), from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Admission is ¥4,500 per adult and ¥2,250 for children aged 4 to 12, with children under 3 admitted free.

A Fantastical 18th-Century Palace Experience

Upon entering the space decorated in pink, white, and gold, guests are transported to what feels like an 18th-century palace hosting a magnificent Christmas party by Marie Antoinette. Shoes and accessories that Marie might have chosen for her "finest outfit of the day" are displayed throughout the venue. Executive Pastry Chef Manami Sumi's creations, combining elegance and charm, enhance this enchanting atmosphere.

Signature Sweets

The buffet showcases several standout desserts:

Fraise et Charme - A shortcake as gorgeous as Marie Antoinette's dress, featuring light sponge soaked in orange liqueur, sandwiched fresh strawberries, and strawberry cream, creating an elegant masterpiece.

Couture Blanche - Kumquat and cardamom confiture wrapped in jasmine tea mousse, decorated with delicate lace-like patterns.

Marie's Beloved Biscuit Kugelhopf - The traditional French pastry "Biscuit Savoie" baked in a Kugelhopf mold, offering a fluffy texture with a hint of bitter orange for simple yet refined taste.

Apple de Noël - A moist pound cake with a subtle cinnamon aroma, inspired by the apples cultivated in the special orchards of Versailles that Marie loved.

Queen's Beautiful Tart - A tart topped with strawberry mousse featuring gorgeous decorations reminiscent of roses blooming in the Versailles gardens.

Versailles Snow Cover - The traditional Christmas dessert "Bûche de Noël" beautifully finished with cream, evoking snow-covered trees.

Live Station Specialty

At the live station, guests can enjoy Cardinal Slices, a traditional Austrian pastry from Marie Antoinette's birthplace. The dessert features alternating layers of meringue and sponge cake, creating a delightful combination of crispy and fluffy textures. It's filled with generous amounts of raspberry cream and cut dramatically before guests' eyes.

Other bite-sized treats include Raspberry Chapeau, shaped like a lady's hat with perfectly balanced raspberry tartness and caramel sweetness, and Macaron de Bijou, white chocolate macarons infused with Earl Grey tea aroma, resembling jewels Marie Antoinette might have worn.

Savory Menu

The savory selection includes:

  • Jambon Beurre - A classic Parisian sandwich with toasted baguette, walnut cream, and sweet-tart apple jam
  • Coq au Vin - Chicken thigh slowly simmered with mushrooms and onions in red wine, accented with black pepper, from Burgundy
  • Flammekuechen-style Pizza - Inspired by traditional Alsatian thin-crust pizza, topped with white cream, fragrant bacon, and sweet honey

These nine diverse savory items are perfect for a late lunch alongside the sweet offerings.
