Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Launches Accommodation-Inclusive Wedding Plans for Inbound Visitors

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) has launched a new series of wedding plans designed for overseas visitors, combining a ceremony, reception, and a two-night accommodation stay. The plans became available on May 28, 2026.

Growing Demand for Inbound Weddings

Japan's wedding market has been on a declining trend. According to vital statistics data from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the number of marriages peaked at approximately 1.1 million couples in 1972 and has since fallen to roughly 480,000 in 2024.

At the same time, inbound tourism has staged a strong recovery. The Japan National Tourism Organization reported a record 36,869,900 international visitors to Japan in 2024. The Japan Tourism Agency noted that inbound tourism spending reached 8.1257 trillion yen that year, with accommodation accounting for the largest share at 33.6% — a sign of growing interest in extended, high-value stays. Wedding packages that integrate ceremony and accommodation align closely with this type of spending.

Japan is also gaining recognition as a destination for "destination weddings," valued for its safety, hospitality, seasonal scenery, and food culture. According to The Business Research Company, the global destination wedding market is projected to reach 47.85 billion USD in 2026.

Against this backdrop, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo has been seeing an increase in wedding inquiries from overseas visitors, with notable demand for plans that include accommodation. The hotel developed these inbound-focused packages to respond to that interest.

A Wedding That Extends Beyond a Single Day

The new plans combine a ceremony, reception, and a two-night stay for the couple in an Executive Suite with garden view. Rather than treating the wedding as a one-day event, the format allows the couple to arrive the evening before the ceremony and enjoy the entire stay as part of the celebration.

Accommodation arrangements for guests traveling from abroad are also available within the same hotel, reducing travel burden and allowing the entire event to take place in one location.

For inbound weddings, the planning process is handled primarily online and by email, allowing couples to finalize most decisions before arriving in Japan — a practical arrangement for those with limited time in the country.

Japanese Culture at the Heart of the Experience

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo's weddings are set against the backdrop of a sprawling Japanese garden dotted with historic structures and a red bridge, offering overseas guests a direct encounter with Japanese culture.

The garden's standalone shrine, "Morinomiya," hosts Shinto-style ceremonies with seasonal scenery throughout the year. Following the ceremony, a "Hanamiyuki" procession through the garden adds a distinctly traditional Japanese element. Garden photography sessions are open to both the couple and their guests.

Wedding cuisine is built around "THE TOKYO CUISINE," a Japanese-French fusion course that goes beyond the boundaries of either tradition. The hotel also accommodates dietary requirements including halal and vegetarian options, and can arrange interpreters — reflecting its experience hosting guests from around the world.

Located within easy reach of major Tokyo sightseeing spots, the hotel's garden changes with the seasons: camellia, cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, autumn foliage, and yukitsuri (decorative winter rope wrapping). One of the signature seasonal features is "Tokyo Unkai" (Tokyo Sea of Clouds), a large-scale fog garden display recognized as one of the largest of its kind in Japan.
