Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Tomohiko Chihiro) is bringing a new seasonal offering to its lobby lounge "Le Jardin": the "Pear & Fig Afternoon Tea," celebrating the refreshing sweetness of pear and the rich flavor of fig. The menu launches on Monday, August 17, 2026.
A Celebration of Seasonal Fruits in Every Layer
The afternoon tea brings together juicy pear and aromatic fig as the central ingredients, with a lineup of sweets designed to highlight each fruit's character alongside savory bites made with seasonal produce.
On the top tier of sweets, guests can enjoy a "Pear Mousse Tart" that captures the delicate flavor of fresh pear, a "Pear and Caramel Rare Cheesecake" that layers the pear's bright sweetness with bittersweet caramel and a hint of coffee, and a "Fig Verrine" with a pleasantly textured bite. A "Semidried Fig and Spice Cake" rounds out the tier, delivering the concentrated sweetness of fig and aromatic spice in an elegant finish.

The middle tier features the hotel's beloved classic plain scone alongside a "Fig Scone" whose gentle saltiness brings out the sweetness of fig. Both are served with a pear and yuzu jam, as well as a hazelnut and almond clotted cream, offering a fragrant and flavorful combination.
On the savory bottom tier, highlights include a "Ham and Fig Croffle" — a crisply baked croffle topped with ham and fig — a "Seafood Risotto Croquette" that reveals a golden risotto when cut open, and a classic British "Coronation Chicken Sandwich" with a curry-spiced twist. A jellied saury dish topped with a charred eggplant tartare also appears on the tier, balancing sweet and savory notes throughout.

Evening High Tea with Champagne and Garden Views
For those who prefer a later dining experience, an "Evening High Tea" is also available. Guests enjoy a glass of champagne alongside a three-tiered hors d'oeuvres stand and the hotel's signature chef-crafted roast beef, all while taking in the tranquil lounge and its garden views.
The top tier of the hors d'oeuvres stand features a pumpkin orange soup, a rabbit cookie with carrot cake salé, truffle polenta with porcini mushrooms, and a ham and fig croffle. The middle tier presents a vitello tonnato-style roast beef, a tuna and raspberry tartine, and a duck prosciutto with pear compote. The bottom tier features a seafood risotto croquette, a coronation chicken sandwich, and the jellied saury with charred eggplant tartare.
The main course is the chef's special roast beef, served with gravy, horseradish (レフォール), and herb salt. Guests finish with a dessert and a choice of coffee or tea.
From October 1 to 31, select menu items transition to autumn seasonal alternatives.
