Hotel Okura JR Huis Ten Bosch, a resort hotel adjacent to Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, Nagasaki, will host a special community event called "Okura Pan Marché — Connecting Regional Charm Through Food and Music" on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The event is being held as part of the hotel's 30th anniversary celebrations, which began in June 2025.
Okura Pan Marché
The main event, set for 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM in the 1st-floor banquet hall "Ōtori," is a free-admission bread market featuring approximately 20 bakery shops primarily from the Saga and Nagasaki areas. Local favorites will gather to showcase their signature breads.
The hotel's own bakery shop "Sailer" will also have a booth, offering pretzels baked on-site using traditional Austrian techniques, along with other carefully crafted items.
All visitors will receive a restaurant discount coupon valid at the hotel's restaurants from April onward.
Stage Events
Live performances will take place throughout the event, including a koto recital by the Japanese Music Club of Nagasaki Prefectural Sasebo Minami High School, a choral performance by the Chorus Club of Nagasaki Prefectural Sasebo Nishi High School, and a concert by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Sasebo Band.

Premium Sweets Collection by Ryoji Akiyoshi
On the same day, a separate ticketed event, "Premium Sweets Collection by Ryoji Akiyoshi," will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the 12th floor in the Premium Banquet Hall "Pearl." Hotel pastry chef Ryoji Akiyoshi will present an array of special sweets alongside panoramic views from the top floor.
The lineup features locally sourced ingredients, including "Matsuura Melon Sherbet and Soup" highlighting the rich flavor of Matsuura melon, and "Sonogi Matcha Terrine" with the deep taste of Sonogi matcha. The event is limited to 40 guests.
