Nishi-Izu Meguri, a Wellness Ryokan Focused on 4 Types of Health, Opens July 1, 2026 in Doi Onsen

A new wellness ryokan, "Nishi-Izu Meguri (西伊豆 巡り)," is scheduled to open on July 1, 2026 in Doi Onsen, Izu City, Shizuoka. The inn's official website has launched and accommodation plan reservations are now open as of May 14, 2026.

The property was previously operated as "Doi Onsen Hotel Minamiso" and has been reimagined under the concept of "a 4-katsu inn for nurturing yourself." The four wellness pillars — known as 4活 (4-katsu) — are: 温活 (onsen thermal wellness), 腸活 (gut health), 癒し活 (relaxation), and 睡眠活 (sleep wellness).

The 4-Katsu Wellness Experience

Thermal Wellness (温活)

Guests can enjoy private open-air baths, private saunas, and private hot stone rooms (岩盤浴). The baths use 100% natural free-flowing hot spring water (源泉100%かけ流し).

Gut Health (腸活)

The inn offers a yakuzen (medicinal herb cuisine) bar, welcome drinks, and a vinegar bar — all designed with gut health in mind. Meals are crafted around a gluten-free approach.

Sleep Wellness & Relaxation (睡眠活・癒し活)

Guests can make use of an aroma bar, a post-bath relaxation space (湯上り処), sleep support amenities, and a panoramic foot bath. The inn's atmosphere is enhanced with healing background music and thoughtfully designed lighting.
