Konica Minolta Planetaria Tokyo, an entertainment planetarium facility in Yurakucho, will begin screening a special program titled "Immersive Planetarium Monet" starting March 3, 2026.
This program offers a unique opportunity to experience the world of Claude Monet, one of the most celebrated Impressionist painters, through an immersive planetarium experience that brings his lifetime pursuit of capturing "the transience of light" to life across the full-dome projection system. The program is supervised by Hiroo Yasui, a renowned researcher of Claude Monet's work, and explores what Monet loved, what he observed, and how he captured light on canvas throughout his life journey alongside his masterpieces.
A New Dimension of Immersive Experience: Seeing the World Through Monet's Eyes
The defining feature of "Immersive Planetarium Monet" is its unprecedented level of immersion. The program showcases Monet's most beloved works, including his renowned "Water Lilies" series and "Impression, Sunrise," enhanced with cutting-edge AI technology that extends the imagery "beyond the canvas." Monet's brushstrokes and vibrant colors fill the entire dome, liberating the world that was once confined within rectangular frames to span across walls and overhead. Visitors literally step into "the world Monet saw."

Planetaria Tokyo's DOME 1 is a specialized planetarium where projections cover from ceiling to walls. The 15-meter diameter dome creates a truly unique immersive space, with projections that envelop the entire field of vision in Monet's colors.
Visitors can enjoy the ultimate digital art experience, completely surrounded by Monet's world.
Photogenic Limited Menu Items

Limited menu items inspired by Monet's masterpieces are available for those who want to enhance their visit with visually appealing refreshments. DOME 1, where the program screens, allows visitors to bring in menu items purchased from the adjacent "Cafe Planetaria." Guests can enjoy these Monet-inspired limited menu items while immersed in the artist's world for a truly extraordinary experience.
Photography is also permitted before the main screening begins, so visitors can capture photogenic shots of their cafe menu items against the backdrop of dome projections.
Water Lily - ¥830 (tax included)
A non-alcoholic drink inspired by "Water Lilies," featuring beautiful color-changing properties from blue to purple when mixed. Garnished with pentas flowers reminiscent of lotus blossoms and accented with colorful tapioca and jelly, it offers a refreshing taste.
Monet's Pancake - ¥780 (tax included)
A special pancake inspired by the masterpiece "Woman with a Parasol," designed to be both visually delightful and delicious. The pancake features butterfly pea chocolate coating with an "edible Monet painting," filled with mixed berries and whipped cream for a satisfying finish.
Exclusive Original Products at the Shop

The adjacent "Gallery Planetaria" shop offers merchandise featuring Monet's paintings as motifs. The "Original Magnets" featuring four iconic scenes from the program are unique products that reflect the 360-degree visual experience of "Immersive Planetarium Monet."
The shop also carries cosmetics and stationery inspired by Monet's paintings.
