JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo Opens KI NO BI Room, a Pop-Up Bar Featuring Kyoto Craft Gin

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo (2-21-2 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo), which opened in October 2025 within TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, is launching KI NO BI Room — a limited-time pop-up bar at the hotel's 30th-floor hidden bar "4-0-3" (Four-Oh-Three) — starting May 13, 2026 and running for approximately six months. The pop-up celebrates KI NO BI Kyoto Dry Gin, crafted by the Kyoto Distillery, Japan's first gin-dedicated distillery.

KI NO BI Kyoto Dry Gin is made on a base of rice spirit, using 11 Japanese botanicals including Kyoto-grown yuzu, gyokuro green tea, and sansho (Japanese pepper). The botanicals are divided into six element groups for separate maceration and distillation, then blended together to create its refined flavor profile.

The pop-up recreates the ambiance of the "House of KI NO BI," the brand's Kyoto home base where visitors can experience the gin's craftsmanship firsthand. Inside bar "4-0-3," the space is decorated with a karesansui (dry rock garden)-inspired display and traditional Japanese andon lanterns, offering guests a tranquil Kyoto-like atmosphere without leaving Tokyo. The seasonal cocktail menu rotates every two months throughout the run.

Seasonal Cocktails Changing Every Two Months

The cocktail menu draws on several expressions from the KI NO BI lineup: the standard KI NO BI Kyoto Dry Gin; KI NO BI TEA Kyoto Dry Gin, made with a special blend of gyokuro and tencha teas created exclusively for KI NO BI by the long-established Kyoto Uji tea house Horii Shichimeien; and KI NO BI SEI Kyoto Dry Gin, known for its bolder, more robust character.

For May and June, the menu is themed around tea, in keeping with the new tea season. Three cocktails are available, including an original creation exclusive to this event. Each cocktail is priced at ¥3,000 (tax and service charge included). The cocktails are also available at JW Bar and JW Lounge within the hotel.

KINOBI TEA MarTEAni

KINOBI TEA MarTEAni

A Japanese-style martini made with KI NO BI TEA, using gyokuro and tencha specially blended from Uji's "Oku no Yama" tea garden. The toasty green tea and citrus elements interweave to create a refined, layered cocktail.

KINOBI Matcha Tonic

KINOBI Matcha Tonic

A polished gin tonic in which the elegant bitterness and earthy depth of matcha highlight KI NO BI's citrus notes. Japanese ingredients come together beautifully in this clean, well-balanced drink.

KINOBI SEIgloni

A negroni variation built around the full-bodied character of KI NO BI SEI, enriched with herbal bitterness and sweetness. Yuzu acidity and the richness of milk blend into a smooth, satisfying cocktail. This drink is an original creation exclusive to this pop-up event.

Special Tasting Seminar and Cocktail Event on June 26
