Special Exhibition: Kiyoshi Hikawa Calendar 2026 Costumes

Alongside the Kamigata Kimono Satsuki Fair, a special display of costumes provided to Kiyoshi Hikawa for his Kiyoshi Hikawa Calendar 2026 will also be on view. Visitors can see the actual garments worn by Kiyoshi Hikawa during the calendar photo shoot up close.
Three featured pieces are on display:
Katayon Sakura Fubuki (Cherry Blossom Drift)
A patterned weave fabric that gives the impression of gradation is used as a base, with delicate three-dimensional cherry blossom petals rendered in printed Yuzen. The offset composition evokes the movement of blossoms carried by the wind.
Yukiwa Tobi-Gara (Snow Circle Pattern)
Made from smooth, lustrous Tango patterned weave fabric and finished with double dyeing for a rich depth of color. Traditional patterns including "scales," "shark skin," and "haze (hailstone)" are incorporated within the snow circle motifs, carrying auspicious meanings such as protection from evil, warding off misfortune, and good fortune.
Silver Summer Gauze from the Sanki Ryo Series
An original piece from the Sanki Ryo (Three-Season Cool) series using the brand's "refreshing crepe" fabric from Nagahama. Designed to be worn comfortably from spring through early autumn, the delicate silver thread embroidery against a soft lavender ground catches the light in shifting ways.
