Kotobukian Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) is bringing a new snack to Kyoto Station. Starting August 1, 2026, three shops inside the station — Precious Deli & Gift Kyoto, PLUSTA Gift (Main Line Central Ticket Gate), and PLUSTA Gift ASTY Kyoto — will be the first to carry the new "Kyo Piri Pari."
"Kyo Piri Pari" is a cheese senbei with a distinctly Kyoto twist, made using "Japan's Spiciest Golden Ichimi," a chili pepper spice from Gion Ajikou, a spice shop in Kyoto's Gion district.

"Kyo Piri Pari" is made with "Japan's Spiciest Golden Ichimi," produced by Gion Ajikou, a spice shop in Kyoto's Gion district.
Ajikou grows and processes its own heirloom chili pepper variety, passed down since the Edo period, in-house, producing a striking golden color and sharp, clean heat.
Said to be about ten times spicier than takanotsume (a common Japanese chili pepper), it has earned a loyal following among spice lovers nationwide as a specialty born in Kyoto.
