The November Grand Sumo Tournament in Kyushu, a fixture of autumn in Fukuoka, will be held at Fukuoka Kokusai Center from Sunday, November 8, 2026. Viewing plans that bundle a tournament ticket with a JR round trip and a hotel stay are now on sale at tabiwa Travel.
The plans are sold by Via Inn Hakataguchi Ekimae (ヴィアイン博多口駅前), an official hotel of the Japan Sumo Association. In addition to the viewing ticket (Chair C Seat), the JR round trip and the hotel stay can be freely combined to suit each traveler's needs. Souvenirs, a calendar for the first guests to apply, and a meal coupon for the day-trip plan are also offered as extras for remembering the tournament.
Plans that include a viewing ticket are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and end once the planned number is reached, so apply early if you are interested.

Souvenirs included in all plans
Everyone who applies through these plans (excluding infants who travel free of charge) receives one "Hakkiyoi Ramen" (ハッキヨイラーメン) and one embroidered handkerchief (Hiyonoyama & Akawashi, ひよの山＆赤鷲). The souvenirs are handed over at the front desk of Via Inn Hakataguchi Ekimae.
Accommodation plans only: 2027 one-sheet calendar for the first 50
Guests using the "JR + hotel set plan" or the "hotel plan" receive one 2027 annual sumo calendar per room, which also lists the dates of the tournaments. This offer ends once the planned number is reached.
Day-trip plans only: ¥2,000 meal coupon for after the bouts
Guests using the day-trip plan (available only for departures from Kansai and Chugoku, on weekdays only) receive a ¥2,000 meal coupon. It can be used at the izakaya "Kyushu Megumi no Kozuchi Hakata Ekimae" (九州恵みのこづち 博多駅前店) on the 1st floor of Via Inn Hakataguchi Ekimae, so you can spend an evening in Hakata after the bouts.

Accommodation plans include a stay at the official hotel, which is conveniently located about a 4-minute walk from the Hakata Exit of JR Hakata Station. It is also close to a bus stop, making it easy to get to the venue, Fukuoka Kokusai Center.
