Masahiko Ozumi Paris, a patisserie based in Kansai known for its innovative approach to French traditional sweets, will open its first permanent Tokyo location at Daimaru Tokyo Store on October 29, 2025 (Wednesday). The shop will feature its signature "Zabuton Montblanc," frozen take-home montblancs, and Tokyo Station-exclusive items like "ZABUTON Mignon."
After graduating from Kansai University's Faculty of Environmental and Urban Engineering, Masahiko Ozumi moved to Paris, France, where he studied French at the Sorbonne University.
He mastered pastry techniques at Le Cordon Bleu and Belle Conseil, spending his days gaining experience at patisseries and chocolateries in Paris.
At age 26, he became sous chef at "A lacroix patisserie" and had the opportunity to receive the Best of Paris award. At 28, he served as sous chef at the Michelin-starred "palace hotel," continuing to refine his skills and experience in French kitchens.
Born in Temmabashi, Osaka in 2022, "Masahiko Ozumi Paris" is an innovative patisserie that creates "cake like art" using unique 3D CAD modeling techniques based on French traditional sweets.
The brand expanded to Hankyu Umeda Main Store in 2023 and Yodoyabashi in 2024.
Background of the First Permanent Tokyo Store Opening
Tokyo Station is Japan's representative "gateway." Many people use it for business trips, travel, and homecoming, making it an area with high demand for gifts and souvenirs. This opening will allow customers in the Kanto region to enjoy sweets that were previously only available in Kansai on a regular basis.
Representative Work: "Montblanc"
The brand's signature montblanc is affectionately called "Zabuton Montblanc" (cushion montblanc) by customers due to its unique form. In addition to the flavor created by montblanc mousse made with Japanese chestnuts, its cushion-like unique shape has become a hot topic on social media.
Furthermore, the shop offers other cakes with distinctive personalities, such as knit patterns and bag-shaped forms, delivering "visually enjoyable, emotionally moving" experiences.
Tokyo Store-Exclusive New Items Coming
To coincide with the opening at Daimaru Tokyo, exclusive flavor Zabuton Montblancs and baked goods are planned.
This will provide a "special experience only available here" and meet gift demand.
