Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima Opens in the Heart of Hiroshima City

Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima opened in the heart of Hiroshima on May 18, 2026. Situated just a 2-minute walk from Hachobori station on the Hiroshima Electric Railway, the 182-room property marks the first entry into Hiroshima for both the Mercure brand and the Tokyu Stay brand.

The hotel is the second dual-brand collaboration between Accor's Mercure brand and Tokyu Resorts & Stay's Tokyu Stay in Japan, and the 20th Mercure hotel in the country. The property blends Tokyu Stay's extended-stay facilities with Mercure's commitment to embedding local culture and hospitality into the guest experience.

Design Inspired by Hiroshima's Waterways

The hotel's interior concept, "Suiko no Bi" (Water and Light Beauty), draws from the rivers and waterscapes that have long defined Hiroshima. Interior design was handled by FAMZ Co., Ltd. — the firm also behind Mercure Hida Takayama. Throughout the guest rooms, accents in a vermilion recalling Itsukushima Shrine and carpets evoking the shimmer of the city's rivers bring the local landscape indoors.

Guest Rooms

Superior Queen Room

The hotel offers 182 guest rooms ranging from approximately 17 to 50 square meters across 10 room types. Options include rooms with mini-kitchens, rooms with a partitioned living and sleeping area, and bunk bed rooms suited for groups. Extended-stay amenities such as washer-dryers, microwaves, and refrigerator-freezers are standard across the property. Large windows offering views over the city are a highlight in many of the rooms.

Facilities and Local Partnerships

The hotel houses a SHARE LOUNGE operated by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., complete with meeting rooms, as well as a fitness gym. These spaces are available to both hotel guests and local residents.

The breakfast offering is themed "Hiroshima Craft Bread & Coffee," developed in partnership with two local names: Alofte, a Hiroshima bakery founded in 1983, and MOUNT COFFEE, the team that supervised the coffee served to world leaders at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.

Access

Hiroshima Airport (HIJ) is approximately a 50-minute drive away. Limousine buses connect the airport to Hiroshima Station or Hiroshima Bus Center, from where the historic Hiroshima Electric Railway tram provides a direct connection to Hachobori station — a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
