MIMARU SUITES Kyoto CENTRAL Selected in the MICHELIN Guide 2026 Hotel Selection, a First for MIMARU

MIMARU SUITES Kyoto CENTRAL, an apartment hotel in central Kyoto, has been selected in the MICHELIN Guide 2026. This is the first time a MIMARU property has been selected.

The hotel is an apartment-style property with two or more bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, and an in-room washer-dryer in every room. With spaces that let guests enjoy time together as well as time resting on their own, and with support from friendly staff, it caters to families and groups staying in Kyoto.

What Is a MICHELIN Guide "Selected Hotel"?

The MICHELIN Guide's Hotel Selection chooses hotels based on five criteria: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, the personality and uniqueness of the property, value for money, and experiences unique to the location. A "Selected Hotel" is an accommodation that meets these criteria and is recommended by the MICHELIN Guide.

Spacious Rooms for Relaxing Together or Resting at Your Own Pace

All 19 rooms at MIMARU SUITES Kyoto CENTRAL have two or more separate bedrooms, plus a living and dining area where everyone can gather. Guests can talk about their day after sightseeing, or let the adults relax by themselves after the children have gone to sleep. Because the rooms allow both time together and time apart, they also suit larger groups, such as three-generation trips or friends traveling together.

In the kitchen, guests can lay out food and dishes bought at nearby shops and eat to suit their plans and how they feel that day. The in-room washer-dryer and the two bathrooms and two toilets also help with laundry during longer stays and with getting ready as a group. It is a space where guests can eat and rest at their own pace.

Nijo Castle, the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nishiki Market are all within walking distance, so guests can enjoy exploring the city on foot.

At the front desk, guests can casually ask the staff about nearby restaurants, ways to enjoy the city and how to get to sightseeing spots. Even in a city they are visiting for the first time, or when they are unsure about their travel plans, the staff offer guidance suited to each guest's plans and interests and support their stay in Kyoto.
