About MUSIC LETTER CONCERT
MUSIC LETTER CONCERT is a wind orchestra concert built around the idea of experiencing the joy of music and wanting to share that emotion with someone, delivered as a "letter of music." The series began in 2024, and the 2027 edition is its third.
For this edition, the professional Siena Wind Orchestra will perform popular Studio Ghibli and Disney pieces. In addition to Tokyo and Kobe, Nagoya joins the lineup as a new host city. The program is designed for everyone from first-time concertgoers to those who regularly enjoy live performances.

Profile
The Siena Wind Orchestra is a professional wind orchestra formed in 1990 to explore the possibilities of wind music. Based at Bunkyo Civic Hall, it holds subscription concerts, takes part in music festivals and events across Japan, performs in youth development programs such as the Agency for Cultural Affairs school tour performances, and gives concerts by a variety of ensemble units that draw on the character of wind instruments, as well as wind band clinics. It stages more than 100 events a year.
In 2002, Yutaka Sado became principal conductor, and the orchestra holds a national tour every year. More recently it has welcomed guest conductors such as Keitaro Harada, Daichi Deguchi, Akira Miyagawa, and Hiroshi Aoshima, broadening its activities with a wide repertoire. It also works actively to promote wind orchestra works: Miho Hazama became composer-in-residence in 2017, and in 2019 the orchestra performed new pieces commissioned from eight composers in Japan and overseas in one go. From September 2026, the leading Japanese composer Shinichiro Ikebe serves as artistic advisor, and the orchestra is working to create new wind orchestra repertoire and nurture the next generation of composers.
Starting with a partnership with Bunkyo Ward and Bunkyo Civic Hall in October 2010, the orchestra has formed partnerships with Shobi Gakuen (尚美学園), Joetsu University of Education, Joetsu Cultural Hall (上越文化会館), Nagoya College of Music, Fuji City in Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Rose Theater (富士ロゼシアター), and the Biwako Arts and Culture Foundation (びわ湖芸術文化財団), alongside its broad performance activities, and it is active in programs closely connected to local communities and educational institutions. It has recorded many CDs and DVDs, and has released "SUPER SOUND COLLECTION スタジオジブリ吹奏楽," a collection of original arrangements of Studio Ghibli music.
