A special showcase called "Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 SENEGAL - GHANA" is set to take place at the Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 FINAL on April 19, 2026 (Sunday) at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. Four top dancers who won their respective African qualifiers — two from Senegal and two from Ghana — will travel to Japan to compete on one of the world's largest solo dance battle stages.

DANCEALIVE Expands Across Africa
DANCEALIVE, which originated in Japan in 2005, has grown far beyond its home country and has gained enthusiastic support across the African continent. Spread rapidly through social media, the format has fused with local cultures to create new expressions of dance.
"DANCEALIVE SENEGAL" launched in November 2024 and immediately drew significant attention, including special coverage from Senegal's national television broadcaster. The competition has grown into an event commanding national-level recognition. For this event, the champions from its most recent two tournaments will be making their first trip to Japan.
Following Senegal's success, "DANCEALIVE GHANA" made its debut in November 2025, bringing together dancers from a competitive scene that blends contemporary styles such as Afrobeats with exceptional technical skill. The winner and runner-up from that inaugural tournament will join the Senegalese representatives in Tokyo.

About Mynavi DANCEALIVE
Born in Japan in 2005 as "DANCE@LIVE," Mynavi DANCEALIVE is the world's largest 1-on-1 street dance battle format. In each battle, two dancers face off, improvising one move at a time to music selected by the DJ — with only the DJ knowing what will be played next. Victory goes to the dancer who earns the majority of votes from the judges.
The competition is divided into six categories across five dance styles — HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING — for the General division, plus a KIDS division for middle school students and younger. Regional qualifying rounds take place across eight areas of Japan (Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu), with the winners advancing to the national finals held in April.
