This summer, Makuhari Bay Park's Wakaba 3-chome Park in Mihama-ku, Chiba City, gets its own night market. On August 22 (Sat) and 23 (Sun), 2026, "NEIGHBORHOOD MARCHE vol.5" — the fifth edition of the community marche event "NEIGHBORHOOD MARCHE," run by prove LiFE LLC — sets up for two days.
With the height of summer in mind, this edition runs as a "night marche," open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Over the two days, more than 60 marche stalls and 30-plus kitchen cars gather, along with live music, live painting, and a kamishibai show for families — plenty to enjoy beyond just shopping and food.

More Than 90 Stalls Over Two Days, Full of Standout Goods and Food
More than 60 marche stalls set up across the two days, giving visitors the chance to meet producers and makers from all over Japan. On top of that, more than 30 kitchen cars gather to serve food that's only available at the event. Shop while chatting directly with makers about the products that catch your eye, or dig into food made just for the occasion — the easy, natural exchange between local residents and vendors is part of what makes NEIGHBORHOOD MARCHE special.
Standout Artists Take the Stage for a Night of Summer Music
Alongside the marche and kitchen cars, a stage hosts a lineup of music and performances. On August 23 (Sun), from 7:20 PM to 8:00 PM, ukulele singer KAIKI, who performs both in Japan and abroad, takes the stage. August 22 (Sat) brings a different lineup, with DJs, singer-songwriters, and other artists — each day features a different genre. On both days, a special tent beside the stage hosts live painting by TMAC, letting visitors watch art take shape in real time alongside the music.
A Kamishibai Performance the Whole Family Can Enjoy
On August 23 (Sun), from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, kamishibai (picture-story show) performer benben takes the stage. Raised in Tokyo's Arakawa Ward — often cited as the birthplace of kamishibai — benben now appears at community events and holds a weekly kamishibai show with dagashi (penny candy) sales every Friday at a park in Soka, Saitama. Expect a playful performance that both kids and adults can enjoy.
Try Your Luck at "Neimarutto Gacha" After Shopping
The event also brings back NEIGHBORHOOD MARCHE's regular "Neimarutto Gacha." Spend 500 yen or more at the marche and you'll receive one raffle ticket; collect three tickets and you can try the gacha. It's a bit of extra excitement on top of the shopping, keeping things fun right up until the end. *Prizes are available while supplies last.
