NOT A HOTEL Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has announced the launch of a new project, "NOT A HOTEL YUGAWARA," in the Oku-Yugawara area of Kanagawa Prefecture, a highly popular hot spring destination with excellent access from central Tokyo.
Since its establishment in 2020, NOT A HOTEL has opened nine locations across Japan. With the addition of NOT A HOTEL YUGAWARA and other upcoming projects, the network will expand to 17 locations nationwide. The company continues to enhance its location network while providing new experiences in accommodation and ownership.
New NOT A HOTEL Opens in Popular Hot Spring Destination Oku-Yugawara with Multiple Unique Characteristics
In a location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by the murmur of the Fujiki River—said to be the origin of the Yugawara name—and the whisper of mountain forest trees, two buildings will be developed. One villa, "YUAMI," can be fully owned, while another building will consist of multiple suite rooms.
The flagship villa-type "YUAMI" features three private hot springs with different atmospheres and four bathrooms. Guests can select their preferred bath according to their mood and how they wish to spend their time, offering an experience of deep relaxation while immersing themselves in the nature of Oku-Yugawara.

VILLA "YUAMI"

Nestled in terrain with varying elevations, floors at different levels are arranged in continuous succession. As guests move through the rooms, their sense of distance from nature gently shifts, creating a composition that responds to the site. Three folded roofs envelop these spaces, connecting them as a single landscape.
An open-air bath overlooking the river, adjacent to an infinity pool. A rock bath facing a courtyard, offering both openness and tranquility. A secluded outdoor bath quietly nestled in a charming garden. Guests can tour the baths according to their mood and feelings of the day, healing both mind and body from the core.
The sauna is planned along a pathway connecting the rock bath, open-air bath, and pool. By placing oneself in nature without obstructions, breathing deepens and senses sharpen.
A living and dining space with a large opening approximately 17 meters wide that frames the scenery like a picture scroll. Light flickering through glass blocks evokes the presence of water and hot springs, bringing a soft rhythm to the space.
ONSEN SUITE Type
The other building, consisting of multiple suite rooms, features minimally refined spaces that beautifully highlight the scenery as it changes through the four seasons.
