Odakyu Tama Center Station Gets Sanrio Makeover with 14 Characters Starting February 2026

Station Transformation with Rainbow Colors and 14 Sanrio Friends

Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. announced that starting February 2, 2026, Odakyu Tama Center Station will receive a complete interior makeover. The station serves as the nearest stop to Sanrio Puroland, the popular theme park operated by Sanrio Entertainment.

The renovation commemorates Sanrio Puroland's 35th anniversary. While the station has featured character decorations before, this renewal significantly expands the experience for both park visitors and daily commuters.

From 4 to 14 Characters: A "Yume Kawaii" Design Concept

The new design marks a dramatic shift from the previous blue-and-white color scheme featuring 4 characters, including Hello Kitty (Tama Center's goodwill ambassador). The updated station will embrace a "yume kawaii" (dreamy cute) concept with vibrant rainbow colors and 14 beloved Sanrio characters.

The key visual near the West Exit gate features an exclusive design showing the characters holding Odakyu train-shaped passports as they head to Sanrio Puroland. Passengers can enjoy searching for their favorite characters while waiting for trains or meeting friends at the station.

Enhanced Functionality with Improved Signage

The renovation balances aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. Wayfinding signs maintain clear visibility through simple design elements that complement the bright, cheerful atmosphere.

Concourse Level Design

Stairs and escalators connecting the concourse and platform levels will use different colors for upward/downward directions and gate-bound traffic, making navigation intuitive even for children.
