Po-Tama, Japan's first specialty restaurant dedicated to "pork tamago onigiri" (pork and egg rice balls), is heading to Nagoya. The new Po-Tama Nagoya HAERA location will open on June 11, 2026 (Thursday), on the basement 2nd floor of the HAERA commercial facility inside The Landmark Nagoya Sakae — making it the brand's first store in the Tokai region, its 11th domestic location, and 12th globally.

The store is situated in the basement food area of HAERA (spanning B2 through 4F of The Landmark Nagoya Sakae), a zone dedicated to local street food culture that caters to both residents and visitors.
What Is Po-Tama?
Po-Tama is a specialty shop for "pork tamago onigiri," an Okinawan home-cooking staple made by wrapping pork luncheon meat and a fried egg with rice and nori seaweed. Every order is made fresh on the spot, one by one, after you place it. Each location also offers location-exclusive "limited menu" items developed to reflect the local food culture.

Nagoya HAERA Exclusive Limited Menu
Four limited-edition items inspired by Nagoya's food culture will be available at this location:

Grilled Domestic Eel — ¥1,300
A Po-Tama take on the Nagoya classic "hitsumabushi." Domestic eel is paired with a sweet original kabayaki sauce that balances the saltiness of the pork, then topped with shiso leaves and sesame for an aromatic finish.

Miso Cutlet — ¥980
A crispy pork shoulder cutlet dressed in Po-Tama's original Hatcho miso sauce — a deeply rich, Nagoya-style miso — finished with white sesame and green onions.

Shrimp Cutlet — ¥900
Nagoya is known for topping the charts in shrimp consumption, and this item puts that love on display. A shrimp cutlet made using a unique steam-fry method for a satisfying bounce in every bite, paired with spicy mustard mayo and shiso.

Nagoya-Style Chicken Wings — ¥800
Boneless chicken wings fried crispy in the store's original batter, then coated in a house soy-based sauce and finished with a proprietary blend of powdered pepper. (Bones have been removed for easy eating.)

About Po-Tama's Ingredients
Po-Tama places a strong emphasis on ingredient quality. The pork luncheon meat is an original blend using 100% Okinawa-raised pork, free from preservatives and color additives. The rice is Koshihikari grown in the Aso region of Kumamoto, known for its rich mineral water and sweet, fluffy texture — and only rice milled within 4 days of use is accepted. Eggs are also sourced fresh within 4 days of collection, and the nori is a carefully selected Ariake variety with a clean, concentrated umami flavor.
