What Is Nakkopse?

Nakkopse (낙곱새) takes its name from three ingredients: nakji (octopus), gopchang (beef offal), and saeu (shrimp). The dish originated in Busan, South Korea. Sawee Sikdang runs more than 30 locations across Korea and has also expanded into Malaysia. Its signature sauce is made from 17 ingredients and aged at a low temperature for 72 hours, and the same recipe is used at the Nagoya store.
Nakkopse is still relatively unfamiliar in Japan, but it was named a notable gourmet trend alongside mala tang in Rakuten's 2025 trend forecast, drawing growing attention from local media as it aims to become as widely recognized as samgyeopsal.
