The buffet restaurant "Chef's Live Kitchen" on the 2nd floor of Strings Hotel Nagoya (Nakamura-ku, Nagoya, Aichi) is hosting a limited-time "Nordic Fair: Flavors of Three Tohoku Prefectures & Spring-Colored Strawberry and Peach Sweets" from April 13 (Monday) to June 30 (Tuesday), 2026.

The restaurant, which focuses on the themes of "healthy, beautiful, and fresh," offers freshly prepared buffet dishes from its live kitchen. During the limited period, diners can enjoy Nordic traditional dishes combined with ingredients from three Tohoku prefectures (Aomori, Iwate, and Akita), alongside popular strawberry and peach sweets.

For dinner, guests are welcomed with a first dish served at their table: a soup of Aomori salmon with a refreshing dill aroma, baked in a pie crust. Among the other food offerings are Norwegian Salmon Gravlax, Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) accented with Akita's smoked pickled radish (iburi-gakko), Aomori branded pork braised in red wine, and a pizza featuring Danish blue cheese Danablu. Meatball curry, a Nordic staple, also makes an appearance, alongside Finnish-style carbonara with chicken and lemon. Representing Tohoku's soul foods are Aomori's miso curry milk ramen, and Iwate's Morioka Jajamen (April 13 to May 31) and Morioka Cold Noodles (June 1 to June 30).
The dessert lineup features 9 varieties of strawberry and peach sweets, including strawberry baton pie, strawberry shortcake, strawberry panna cotta, peach and black tea financier, peach jelly, yogurt mousse, and baked cheesecake tart. The ice cream corner allows guests to customize their own creation with toppings and sauces. The pancake corner, where freshly made pancakes come out one after another, is a fun highlight for guests of all ages.
