Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto is holding a limited-time fair at its French Dining TOP OF KYOTO restaurant, from September 1 (Tuesday) through September 6 (Sunday), 2026, in celebration of "Revolving Restaurant Day," a September 6 anniversary the hotel established in 2018.
French Dining TOP OF KYOTO is the only revolving observation French restaurant in Japan, letting guests take in the city's skyline as it slowly turns through a full 360 degrees. For the occasion, the restaurant has prepared a special amuse-bouche and an original cocktail available only during the fair.
A Single Plate That Journeys Through the Four Seasons
The limited-time amuse-bouche served during the fair expresses "a tour through the four seasons" on a single plate. Spring is represented by a panna cotta styled after sakura mochi; summer by cream cheese patterned to resemble watermelon, paired with zucchini and an accent of balsamic vinegar; autumn by a beautifully marbled pumpkin terrine; and winter by a mille-feuille of root vegetables and nori, garnished with a pinwheel folded from vegetables. Bringing the changing seasons together on one plate, it's a special dish befitting the anniversary, opening a leisurely visit to the restaurant as it slowly turns through its revolving scenery.
An Original Cocktail Inspired by Kyoto's Changing Scenery
The restaurant's bartender has also created a limited-time cocktail for the occasion. Named "VISTA 360 (sunset)," it's inspired both by the Kyoto scenery that shifts with the passage of time and by French Dining TOP OF KYOTO itself, which has continued to watch over that scenery unchanged.
