The Ritz-Carlton Osaka is joining the "Candy Dream" campaign — a collaboration between Marriott Bonvoy and global girl group Twice — offering a special afternoon tea buffet at its first-floor Italian restaurant, Splendido. The buffet runs from June 25, 2026 through August 31, 2026, as part of a broader initiative taking place across six Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Japan, with a concept room also available at W Osaka.
Afternoon Buffet "Candy Dream" Twice Afternoon Tea
The concept draws from Twice's philosophy of giving guests two moments of delight — once through visual presentation and again through taste. The theme, "Candy Dream," is inspired by Twice's soft pastel color palette and their iconic light stick, the Candy Bong.
Executive Pastry Chef Frédéric Moreau has created 13 pastel-colored sweet items, while Executive Chef Nobuyuki Aoshima of Splendido contributes 9 savory dishes. The lineup also includes a ruby chocolate fountain that gleams like a jewel, and an original mocktail expressing Twice's pop and playful world.
Among the sweets, Chef Frédéric's personal highlight is the "Pistachio Custard with Passion Fruit Sauce" — a cloud-shaped creation evoking the soft image of Twice. Rich pistachio custard is paired with a refreshing passion fruit sauce for a delightful contrast of flavors. The "Silky Vanilla Rice Cream with Cherry Gelée," modeled on the adorable form of an ice cream, layers smooth vanilla-flavored rice cream with vibrant cherry gelée — both playful in appearance and in taste.
On the savory side, Italian-influenced dishes include a hibiscus-tinted pink risotto layered with the umami of shrimp and the pleasant bitterness of Treviso, a roasted sea bass with a vivid red romesco sauce made from red bell peppers and nuts, and a smooth red paprika panna cotta finished in a charming pastel pink — the "Red Bell Pepper Panna Cotta with Mozzarella Cheese."
For the live dessert, colorful gelées of mango, grenadine, and blue curaçao are layered with coconut sauce and cacao pulp chantilly, decorated with pastel-colored heart-shaped monaka wafers and finished tableside — a tropical and summery creation for both the eyes and the palate.
