Shangri-La Tokyo to Offer Two New Summer Spa Treatments from June 1

Two new summer spa treatment menus will be available at the Chi Spa on the 29th floor of Shangri-La Tokyo (Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) from June 1, 2026. Both menus are designed for guests looking to refresh their body and mind during the summer season.

Authentic Tokyo Experience Summer

The seasonal signature menu "Authentic Tokyo Experience Summer" is built around the Japanese plum (ume), long associated with staying well through summer. The 150-minute treatment begins with a plum-infused bath to warm the body, followed by a scrub and wrap using hot spring water to smooth and hydrate the skin. A steam sauna session encourages detoxification, and the treatment closes with a full-body massage using the bright scent of hebesu — a citrus fruit specialty of Miyazaki Prefecture — and peppermint. The experience is intended to gently release heat that tends to accumulate in the body under the strong summer sun, leaving guests feeling light and clear.

Summer Clarity Ritual

The "Summer Clarity Ritual" uses contrasts of warmth and coolness to help restore balance in the body — particularly the kind of disruption caused by moving between summer heat outdoors and air conditioning indoors. The 100-minute treatment opens with a footbath drawing on the benefits of the sea, gently encouraging circulation from the feet up, before moving into a full-body treatment. A sea mud pack applied to the back delivers minerals to support the elimination of waste products, while its thermal properties help balance the autonomic nervous system and guide the body into deep relaxation. A scalp massage using a scalp spray completes the ritual, delivering a refreshing sensation from the head down.
