Sheraton Kagoshima will begin selling "SHERATON LOVELY (シェラトン ラブリー)," a sweet potato cream cake developed jointly with Festibaro (フェスティバロ), a Kagoshima confectionery brand known for its sweet potato (karaimo) sweets. Sales launch on June 1, 2026 (Monday) at the hotel's first-floor cafe, "&More by Sheraton." This is the first time Festibaro has participated in a collaboration product with an outside partner.
The cake was developed with input from Sheraton Kagoshima's pastry chef, built upon Festibaro's popular "Lovely" base and enhanced with locally sourced Kagoshima ingredients to create a three-layered dessert celebrating the prefecture's rich agricultural heritage.
A Three-Layer Sweet Potato Cake with Colorful Variety
SHERATON LOVELY is structured in three distinct layers:
- Bottom layer: Festibaro's signature "Lovely" sponge
- Middle layer: Sponge made with Chiran tea (chiran-cha), a celebrated green tea variety from Kagoshima Prefecture
- Top: Three varieties of sweet potato milk cream
Deep ocean water-derived salt is used as an accent to bring out the natural flavors of each ingredient.
Three Varieties of Sweet Potato Milk Cream
Each cream combines a different Kagoshima sweet potato (satsumaimo) variety with locally produced Kagoshima milk:
- Aya Murasaki (綾紫): A purple sweet potato prized for its striking color and rich sweetness. Paired with the soft finish of milk, it delivers an elegant, refined taste.
- Kogane Sengan (黄金千貫): A traditional yellow sweet potato with a hearty, rustic character. Combined with the richness of milk, it offers a comforting, nostalgic flavor.
- Beni Hayato (紅隼人): A soft orange sweet potato with a smooth texture. Creamy and mellow in character, it provides a deep and satisfying finish.

SHERATON LOVELY is offered in a Sheraton Kagoshima-exclusive special package, making it suitable as a gift or local souvenir. In addition to takeout purchases, the item is also available in-store as a tasting set paired with a drink of your choice.
