Starting March 1, 2026, bar "VIVARIUM" on the 19th floor of Sheraton Kagoshima (Koraimachi, Kagoshima City) is serving a limited-time "Strawberry and Chocolate Afternoon Tea." The menu pairs juicy seasonal strawberries with deep, aromatic chocolate across a full spread of sweets, savories, and scones, along with free-flow drinks.
VIVARIUM takes its concept from a botanical garden, and the afternoon tea menu reflects that spirit with visually vibrant, seasonal presentations. The current lineup places strawberries and chocolate at center stage, balancing the bright tartness of fresh strawberries with the complexity of cacao throughout each course.


A Blissful Pairing of Strawberry and Chocolate
The top tier of the stand features an array of sweets where strawberry and chocolate harmonize: swan choux filled with strawberry and custard, strawberry chocolate macarons, gateau chocolat, strawberry chocolate glacage, berry and chocolate mousse, strawberry chocolate canelé, and berry guimauve. Each piece is carefully crafted to layer the sweet-tangy notes of strawberry with the depth of chocolate.
The lower tier showcases savories created by a chef who took first place at a French cuisine competition in Japan. Kagoshima's local ingredients appear throughout, including local white fish marinade.
The meal begins with a strawberry tasting — plain, chocolate-coated, and white chocolate-coated — letting guests compare the three distinct flavor profiles before moving on to the full spread.
