Shibuya Bridge, the complex that is home to HOTEL GRAPHY Shibuya, is hosting the local festival "Shibunan Festival 2026" on September 13, 2026 (Sunday). The event is part of an area management project run jointly with Tokyu Corporation, led by Global Agents Co., Ltd., the company behind LIVELY HOTELS, a group of boutique and lifestyle hotels spanning 13 buildings and around 1,200 rooms across 6 brands nationwide.
This Year's Theme Is "Connection" — A One-Day Local Festival Bringing the Street and Its People Together
Now in its second year, the festival's theme is "Connection." It aims to link the area's long-standing traditional festival culture with the diverse lifestyles of the creators and residents who gather in the "Shibunan" area. By bringing together the street and its people, and makers and residents, across generations, the event turns Shibuya Bridge into a place where people gather and linger, creating a new flow of visitors and a stronger local community in the area south of Shibuya Station.

1. Tied to the Shibuya Hikawa Shrine Festival, a Mikoshi Comes to the Venue — Plus Rickshaw Rides Through the Streets of Shibuya
This year's festival falls on the same day as the long-loved local Shibuya Hikawa Shrine Festival. As a symbolic moment where old tradition meets a new neighborhood hub, the mikoshi's procession route is set to run through Shibuya Bridge.
As a special highlight, a limited-run rickshaw (free of charge) will also operate, touring the area around Shibuya Station, Hikawa Shrine, and Shibuya Bridge, with cooperation from Kicchoya, a rickshaw operator based in Asakusa. Riders can take in the festival's energy and the lively streets of Shibuya from an unusual vantage point, seamlessly connecting the venue with the surrounding neighborhood.

2. A "DJ Dance Party" to Listen, Dance, and Get Swept Up In, Plus a Hands-On "Kids Workshop"

Upcycled Stamp Workshop
Stamp designs based on the event's visual motifs onto a worn-out T-shirt or tote bag you bring from home, creating a one-of-a-kind remade item.

3. Pre-Festival Decorations: Noren Curtains and Large Lanterns Set the Mood
Ahead of the festival, noren curtains will be hung along the Shibuya Bridge passageway, and large, striking lanterns will be set up in the piloti. The decorations bring a festival atmosphere to the people who pass through the area every day, building excitement in the Shibunan area ahead of the Shibuya Hikawa Shrine Festival.
4. "Connecting Market" Brings Together a Range of Makers and Vendors
Outdoor booths will be set up under the eaves of the piloti in Shibuya Bridge's Building A. A variety of vendors will gather, offering handmade incense, leather goods, vintage clothing, gluten-free baked goods, and other carefully made crafts, lifestyle goods, and local flavors.

5. A Kitchen Car Area Along the Green Promenade
The open green promenade in front of Building A will host popular kitchen cars, serving food and drinks that are easy to enjoy in the open air, from the lively early afternoon through the gradually darkening evening, creating a comfortable space where visitors can linger.
