A new Japanese akoya pearl specialty shop, "Shizuku Pearl," opens on January 14, 2026, in front of Kuhombutsu Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line. The shop has direct sourcing routes from pearl processing facilities in Ise-Shima, Mie Prefecture, and handles rare pearls. From affordable baroque pearls to high-quality pearls, the shop performs pearl selection and drilling in-store and offers a wide range of akoya pearl products.

The shop provides an experience where customers can find "pearls for themselves" while accommodating each individual's preferences. From affordable, simply designed pearls for everyday enjoyment to custom-made proposals tailored to specific purposes and budgets, the shop offers attentive service unique to a pearl specialty store.
The consultation space inside the shop provides a relaxing environment for both first-time pearl buyers and those who want to browse at their own pace. Feel free to consult about pearls, and visit the shop.

Classical Value Pearls and Unique, Casual Baroque Pearls
Pearls are produced naturally by akoya oysters and come in various qualities. Japan's pearl industry has long defined "beautiful pearls" as "round, flawless, and strongly lustrous," establishing strict quality standards. While this has built trust in the "akoya pearl" brand, many pearls that don't meet these standards—so-called "non-standard" pearls—also exist. These irregular-shaped pearls are difficult to commercialize and have not been fully valued in the market.
Among these, some irregular pearls possess unique and special brilliance.
In recent years, akoya pearl production has decreased, leading to increasing rarity and prices. At the same time, modern society recognizes diverse values. The value of "round, flawless beautiful pearls" and the value of "unique baroque pearls." The shop aims to cherish both values. At Shizuku Pearl, each pearl's individuality is carefully examined, and processing is done in-store to bring out the shape and expression.
The shop believes that bringing irregular pearls previously deemed below standard back into circulation as valuable pearls contributes to Japan's pearl industry.

Shizuku Pearl aims to make pearls something many people can enjoy daily. By maintaining jewelry-grade quality while keeping prices accessible, customers can purchase akoya pearls as casually as buying clothes.

From January 2025, the owner participated in the "Young and Female Leaders Support Program" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Foundation, operating a year-long pop-up shop at "Challenge Shop 'So no Mi' Jiyugaoka." After receiving advice from experts on shop management and learning retail operations for the first time, this led to the new permanent shop opening.
