Six Senses Kyoto, a nature-inspired luxury resort in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto, will run a cherry blossom promotion from March 20 to April 19, 2026, inspired by the weeping cherry tree blooming in its courtyard. Seasonal menus will be available at the seasonal dining restaurant Sekki, Café Sekki, and cocktail bar Nine Tails.
The hotel embraces a biophilic design concept, featuring more than 10 gardens centered around a tranquil courtyard, along with pesticide-free herb and vegetable gardens. The courtyard, which faces the seasonal dining restaurant Sekki and its terrace seating, centers on a weeping cherry tree, offering guests a dining experience amid nature aligned with Japan's 24 traditional solar terms.
Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea: Celebrating Japanese Spring

Terrace seating at Seasonal Dining "Sekki"

The Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea runs for a single month, spanning two solar terms — the Spring Equinox (春分) and Clear and Bright (清明). The menu represents Japanese spring through wagashi-style sweets such as sakura mochi and fresh confections, as well as savories including sakura chirashi sushi and sakura tsukune sandwiches.
Scones made from rice flour come in two flavors — white miso, and matcha & white chocolate — served with house-made amazake cream and strawberry-sakura jam, incorporating traditional Japanese fermented ingredients.
All sweets and savories are gluten-free. The menu is based on Six Senses' culinary philosophy "Eat With Six Senses," which prioritizes sustainable natural ingredients and simple preparation methods. Fermentation techniques draw out fresh spring flavors and depth of taste, while honoring traditional culture and a holistic wellness approach.
