Stadium City Hotel Nagasaki is serving a limited-quantity osechi (traditional Japanese New Year dishes) set, "Shinshun Iwai Gozen" (新春祝い御膳), at its Japanese restaurant JAPANESE DINING 洵 (Shun) for three days only, from Friday, January 1 to Sunday, January 3, 2027.
The set includes dishes that were popular at JAPANESE DINING 洵 in 2026, such as steak made with Goto beef, a rare Nagasaki brand of beef, and whale sashimi, one of the foods that is part of Nagasaki's food culture. Along with standard osechi dishes, it comes with a hearty zoni (New Year soup with rice cake) in which the restaurant's Japanese-cuisine chefs take care over the dashi broth, making it a warm meal available only here.
The set suits a relaxed start to the year with the whole family and no need to prepare osechi at home, whether after a hatsumode (first shrine visit of the year) or during a gathering with relatives. Guests can enjoy it in a special hotel setting with views over Nagasaki.
Recommended Dishes Featuring Nagasaki Ingredients
The Japanese-cuisine chefs prepare New Year dishes centered on carefully selected local Nagasaki ingredients.
Three Celebratory Appetizers (祝肴三種)

Kazunoko (herring roe) Matsumae-zuke, kohaku namasu, and kuromame (black soybeans). These traditional lucky foods, associated with wishes for the prosperity of descendants and for peace, are prepared one by one with care.
Nagasaki Traditional Whale Platter, Two Kinds (長崎伝統 鯨 二種盛り)

Whale sashimi, a familiar part of Nagasaki's food culture. It is a dish that suits a New Year spent in Nagasaki.
Nagasaki-Produced Goto Beef Steak (長崎県産 五島牛ステーキ)

The main dish uses Nagasaki's proud brand of beef. Cooked to a precise doneness, the steak brings the beef's flavor and warmth straight to the table.
Hearty New Year Zoni (具沢山新春お雑煮)

The soup includes buri (yellowtail), a shusse-uo (a fish associated with success in life), as well as shrimp and mochi rice cake, with the flavor of the ingredients melting into the dashi broth. The chefs' version is a soup that warms both body and heart.
