THE NORTH FACE FOOTWEAR SHINSAIBASHI, the world's first footwear-focused concept shop from The North Face, is scheduled to open on April 25, 2026, on the 4th floor of QUARTZ SHINSAIBASHI (Chuo-ku, Osaka), a new commercial facility debuting on the same day.
The store's concept is "Evolve in Motion" — Progress lives in every step. This reflects a commitment to honoring the evolution of movement born through the connection of nature, gear, communities, and people, and to being a presence that supports the next step of those who take on challenges. The store layout is designed so that visitors can experience the brand's vision of humans and gear evolving together within an ever-changing natural environment, through both products and in-store experiences.
As an experiential feature, the store permanently houses a SIDAS FEET BOX EVO 3D scanning device, handled by SIDAS Japan Co., Ltd., which enables precise foot measurement. The scans visualize individual foot characteristics such as left-right differences and gait tendencies, and staff with certified shoe fitter qualifications are on hand to recommend footwear suited to each customer's lifestyle.
The store also offers a Resole Service provided by Vibram Japan Co., Ltd., allowing customers to replace worn outsoles with high-grip, durable Vibram Soles. At the time of opening, nine sole options will be available. The ability to customize soles means customers can enjoy their footwear as a personal piece while extending its lifespan — a sustainability-conscious offering in line with the brand's focus on product longevity.
Store Design
The store was designed by TORAFU ARCHITECTS, an architectural studio founded in 2004 by architects Koichi Suzuno and Shinya Kamuro. The studio undertakes projects across a wide range of fields including architectural design, interior design for commercial spaces and retail stores, exhibition layouts, product design, spatial installations, and video production.
