A new projection mapping work "City of Water: Edo Outer Moat" produced by HITOHATA (Representative Director: Takeaki Higashiyama) will debut at "TOKYO Night & Light" from November 1, 2025 (Saturday). Organized by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Projection Mapping Executive Committee.
"TOKYO Night & Light" creates new nighttime tourism resources to illuminate Tokyo's nights by displaying projection mapping year-round on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, one of Tokyo's landmarks, expressing diverse art through light and sound. It is recognized as a Guinness World Record™ for "Largest Architectural Projection Mapping Display (Permanent)."
"City of Water: Edo Outer Moat" is a work created as part of the "Outer Moat Purification Project" to revive Tokyo as a "City of Water." This approximately 4-minute projection mapping expresses how memories of Edo as a city of water overlap with future cityscapes to create new stories, along with fantastical worlds featuring waterfalls and waterside landscapes depicted in ukiyo-e, and seasonal flowers blooming alongside clear flowing water.
Viewing is free and no advance registration is required.
Please enjoy this grand art experience where city and nature, tradition and innovation resonate together.
