One-Group-Per-Day Lodging Tsubakimori Komuna STAY (椿森コムナSTAY) Opens at a Treehouse Cafe in Chiba on October 31

Tsubakimori Komuna STAY (椿森コムナSTAY), a lodging that welcomes just one group per day, will hold its grand opening on Saturday, October 31, 2026. It is located inside the treehouse cafe Tsubakimori Komuna CAFE & STAY (椿森コムナ CAFE & STAY) in Chuo Ward, Chiba City.

The treehouse cafe is a 9-minute walk from JR Chiba Station. It won a Good Design Award in 2016 and the Grand Prix of the Chiba City Urban Culture Award (千葉市都市文化賞) in 2019.

A Treehouse Cafe Among Trees Over 100 Years Old

The site covers about 656.79 m² (including the sloped areas), roughly the size of two 25-meter pools. Large oak and ginkgo trees more than 100 years old stand on the grounds, and the treehouse is built as if embraced by their branches and leaves. The exciting, out-of-the-ordinary space feels like a secret hideout. With a cafe and a BBQ area on site, the facility can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

Tsubakimori Komuna STAY lets guests experience the charm of Tsubakimori Komuna, which has long been loved by many people, from night until morning. Its concept is "Stay Human."

Architecture That Gains Beauty With Age (経年美化)

The lodging was built by Shohei Hishida (菱田昌平), a carpenter artist at the building contractor HISHIDA.

HISHIDA was founded 14 years ago and has more than 500,000 followers on Instagram. Based on the philosophy of "古る、美る。", it draws attention in Japan and abroad for architecture that makes use of local materials. Centered on handwork, material texture, and beauty, it creates special spaces whose value deepens as time passes.

After the cafe closes in the evening, the space becomes a completely private area for just one group. Guests can spend time with someone special in the treehouse, which adults can enjoy too, let a dog run freely in the spacious dog run, or gaze up at the night sky among the trees. It is a place to spend time as you like, without worrying about those around you.

Please note that stays with dogs are scheduled to be accepted in stages starting Saturday, November 21.
