The "Unknown Side of Black Nikka" Exhibition Comes to Harajuku for a Limited Time

A limited-time event called "The Unknown Side of Black Nikka Exhibition" is set to take place from April 6 to 12 at the 6th and 7th floor rooftop terrace of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado" in Shibuya. The event celebrates the launch of the canned highball Black Nikka Clear Highball, which goes on sale on April 7.

Visitors can experience a variety of content tied to the Black Nikka brand. In addition to purchasing Black Nikka Clear Highball and related merchandise, attendees can visit a booth where AI is used to create stickers of themselves disguised as the King of Blenders — the iconic "mustachioed gentleman" that serves as the brand's symbol. There's also a campaign called "What Should We Call This Person?" inviting the public to suggest a nickname for the King of Blenders, along with a display tracing the development history of Black Nikka Clear Highball.

Outside the venue, a team of advertising staff known as the "Black Nikka Corps" will roam the Harajuku area, each carrying a replica of the Black Nikka Clear Highball can, to raise awareness of the product and draw visitors to the exhibition. Through bold venue decorations featuring the King of Blenders and a lineup of unique activities, the event aims to connect primarily with people in their 20s and 30s and highball enthusiasts, while introducing new ways to enjoy highballs and whisky.

About Black Nikka Clear Highball

Black Nikka Clear Highball is a ready-to-drink canned highball based on Black Nikka Clear, a blended whisky made from non-peated malt that deliberately tones down smokiness. The result is a clean, easy-to-drink flavor that pairs well with any meal. Nikka Whisky's blending expertise combined with Asahi Breweries' know-how in RTD (ready-to-drink) development has produced a product that balances a genuine whisky character with a refreshing, crisp finish.

The packaging features a simple white design with the newly redesigned King of Blenders icon — updated to mark the 70th anniversary of the Black Nikka brand — and the "BLACK" logo prominently centered.
