Sushi and Ramen Shop Uogashiya Opens 15 Seconds from Nakameguro Station on October 29

Sushi to Ramen Uogashiya Nakameguro (鮨とラーメン うおがしや 中目黒) will hold its grand opening at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, about a 15-second walk from the south ticket gate of Nakameguro Station in Tokyo. The shop is run by First Drop Co., Ltd., which operates about 50 restaurants centered on Yokohama and Tokyo.

The menu pairs red-vinegar nigiri made with seasonal fresh fish from the market with "Oigatsuo Ramen," finished with freshly shaved bonito flakes. Both can be enjoyed casually in front of Nakameguro Station.

A Piece of Sushi, a Sip of Dashi

The idea behind Uogashiya is a meal in which diners move back and forth between sushi and ramen. Take a piece of sushi and taste the umami of the fish, then slurp the ramen and enjoy the aroma of bonito dashi.

The shop holds buying rights at both Toyosu Market and Yokohama Central Wholesale Market, which it uses to serve red-vinegar nigiri. The ramen is a seafood-rich bowl made to be eaten alongside sushi. The shop aims to be a place where sushi and ramen, two staples of Japanese food culture, can be enjoyed casually as everyday meals.

Oigatsuo Ramen with Freshly Shaved Bonito

Oigatsuo Ramen (追いがつおラーメン) is made by adding freshly shaved katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) to a soup layered with seafood umami. Its features are the bonito aroma that spreads just before the first bite and the umami that melts into the soup. It is the bowl that supports the shop's way of eating: taking a piece of sushi, then sipping the dashi.

Red-Vinegar Nigiri, 5 Pieces

Seasonal fresh fish bought from Toyosu Market and Yokohama Central Wholesale Market is paired with red-vinegar rice, and each piece is shaped by hand by the sushi chefs. The 5-piece assortment lets diners enjoy the flavor of the fish together with the taste of the red vinegar. The toppings may change depending on what is available.
