Kaguzuchi Fire and Light Show to Close USAMI Fes 2026 on Ito's Usami Coastline

USAMI Fes (USAMIフェス) returns in 2026, with the community festival once again taking over Tomeda Beach Park (留田浜辺公園) adjacent to Usami Beach in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Scheduled for Sunday, May 31 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the event is free admission and packed with local food stalls, craft vendors, stage performances, and hands-on activities for all ages.

This year's festival closes with a 30-minute special stage by fire and light performance group Raiko Enbu Kaguzuchi (雷光炎舞かぐづち), set to begin at 7:00 PM. The group will blend large-scale fire effects with precisely programmed LED and laser lighting, all synchronized to music against the sea and evening sky of Usami.

Fire and Light on the Usami Coastline

Kaguzuchi's closing performance uses Usami's beautiful sea and sunset as a natural backdrop, combining powerful fire effects with intricately controlled LED and laser lighting. The entire show runs in full sync with music, creating an immersive experience that transforms the beach venue into a fantastical space.

A Community Festival in Izu

Themed around "Izu," "Usami," and "the Sea," USAMI Fes is a grassroots community festival held at Tomeda Beach Park next to Usami Beach. The festival brings together approximately 50 vendors offering local food and craft products alongside music and dance performances, workshops, and participatory events, drawing both local residents and tourists visiting the Izu region.

Event Highlights

Local Food & Craft Market

Around 40 food stalls serve dishes and sweets made with local Izu ingredients. The craft area features original products and workshops where visitors can try their hand at handmade crafts.

Diverse Stage Performances

Local performers take to the stage with Yosakoi dance, hula, Tahitian dance, hip-hop, and more. Participatory events including mochi throwing (餅まき) and candy tossing are also planned.

Finale: Fire Dance & Fireworks

The festival closes with Kaguzuchi's fire dance performance followed by a fireworks launch, filling the night sky over the beach with color and light.

Bocce at the Grass Field

A bocce experience session is held at the grassy area, open to people of all ages and physical abilities as an accessible and inclusive activity.
