Collection Inspiration: Reinterpreting Beauty Within
The "Beautiful People" collection draws its inspiration from Chen Chin, the first Taiwanese female painter to be selected for Japan's Imperial Fine Arts Academy Exhibition (Teiten). Her portraits of women are characterized by a delicate, introspective quality and quiet elegance.
UUIN translated the mood of her brushstrokes and color palettes into fabric, using punto and jacquard materials to layer garments like the planes of a painting. In 2023, Google honored Chen Chin with a special Doodle marking the 115th anniversary of her birth, lending her legacy renewed contemporary resonance.

Design: From Canvas to Clothing
The collection is built around her 1927 work "Poppy Flowers" (罌粟花) as its starting point, incorporating a palette of beige, powdery white, ink black, and orange-red to recreate the historical warmth and atmosphere of the original painting.
Floral and weaving motifs drawn from her representative works "Ensemble" (合奏) and "Portrait of Women" (婦女図) are reinterpreted into fabric patterns. Ivory, pink, soft blue, and misty grey form the base tones, evoking a softness that seems to settle against the skin like a fine powder.
Details such as diagonal closures, wide-flowing sleeves, and translucent layering create a light, poetic silhouette — a delicate presence reminiscent of fragrant powder drifting through the air.

UUIN Expands into the Japanese Market
Founded by three designers — concert costume designer Tzutsao LIU, luxury womenswear designer Andrea LIU, and functional streetwear designer Van LIN — UUIN takes its name from the founders' surnames. The brand is rooted in Taiwanese local culture and island aesthetics, and has been steadily building its presence in the Japanese market.
During the event period, a promotion will also run on the brand's official website. Those unable to attend in person can shop the Japan-exclusive pricing through A*COLLECTIVE JAPAN's online store.
