Westin Hotel Sendai Introduces "Afternoon Tea -Autumn Story-" Featuring Caramel and Autumn Flavors

The Westin Hotel Sendai, in Ichibancho, Aoba Ward, Sendai, is offering a new afternoon tea, "Afternoon Tea -Autumn Story-," at Restaurant Symphony on the 26th floor from Saturday, September 26 through Friday, November 27, 2026. Built around caramel and the flavors of autumn, the menu invites guests to enjoy their tea time as though turning the pages of a story.

The narrator of the story is Noix, an original character created for the hotel: a squirrel patissier who lives in the forest and gathers nuts, chestnuts, and fruit to create special sweets. Drawing on the scenery of an autumn forest along with nuts and fruit, each course unfolds a small forest world, set against the backdrop of a tea party Noix hosts with friends from the forest.

The tea stand offers seven sweets that layer caramel's deep sweetness with autumn flavors, together with a smooth chestnut and pumpkin pudding and a light pâte filo chestnut pie. The savories draw on local ingredients under the theme "hospitality of the forest," and a weekend-only specialty features roast beef from Kurihara-produced Miyagi black-haired wagyu.

Guests can pair the menu with teas from JING TEA and Ronnefeldt, among other selections.

About the Forest Tea Party

Image

A quiet tea party deep in the forest.

As autumn deepens and the trees begin to turn red and gold, a single leaf quietly arrives, bearing an invitation to a small tea party held deep in the forest. The sender is Noix, the squirrel patissier, who gathers nuts, chestnuts, and fruit to prepare treats for visitors. Wrapped in the soft, sweet scent of caramel, a quiet moment in the forest slowly unfolds.

"Noix" is the French word for nut or walnut. Nuts and fruit found in the forest are transformed into sweets.
