A four-day Taiwanese night market festival is coming to Hibiya Park this September, bringing lanterns, street food, and live entertainment to the heart of Tokyo.
"Yataiwan Fes 2026 – Gather! The Ultimate Night Market Food – in Hibiya Park Nireno-ki Plaza" runs from Thursday, September 3 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Hibiya Park's Nireno-ki Plaza. The event is organized by BFC Inc. and co-organized by APAMAN Co., Ltd., which operates the "Apaman Shop" rental housing brand. Beyond helping people find a place to live, APAMAN has been working to energize the neighborhoods where people live and create communities where people can gather and connect, and co-organizes this event as part of that effort, bringing the buzz of a Taiwan night market to Hibiya Park in the city center.
This year's theme is "Experience Taiwan with All Five Senses!!" Highlights include a sky lantern experience recreating the lantern-release tradition of Shifen in Taiwan, classic night market games such as shooting galleries and ring toss, mask-making, a stage performance by singer-songwriter 洸美-hiromi-, who was born and raised in Taiwan, and street performers throughout the venue.
The event will also serve a rare-in-Japan draft of Taiwan Beer Gold Medal, along with Taiwanese food, sweets, and drinks. Under the glow of lanterns in the middle of Hibiya Park, the festival aims to bring together people of all ages, from those stopping by after work to families, and contribute to the liveliness of the area.
■ Bringing Home a Slice of Taiwan's Night Market Time, Not Just Its Menu
A Taiwan night market is more than a collection of food stalls — it is a neighborhood gathering place where people heading home from work, families, and travelers alike wander in without a plan, eat, play, and talk. This event recreates that atmosphere in Hibiya Park, combining not just the food but also the lantern light, music, games, and conversation that make a Taiwan night market what it is.
Surrounded by government offices and business districts in the middle of the city, visitors can stop for a drink on the way home from work or spend a holiday exploring the stalls with family and friends, enjoying a taste of Taiwan's night market culture in the early-autumn air.
■ See and Play: Lanterns Lighting Up the Night Sky and Lively Night Market Games
Sky Lantern Experience: Recreates the lantern-release tradition of Shifen in Taiwan. Lanterns carrying handwritten wishes rising into the night sky together will be a highlight across all four days.
(Registration from 6:00 PM / Release expected at 8:00 PM / ¥4,000 per lantern / same-day registration; limited to the first 100 people each day)
Night Market Games and Taiwanese Souvenirs: Alongside classic ring toss and shooting galleries, visitors can make their own mask, and a Taiwanese souvenir corner will offer items imported directly from Taiwan, including cup noodles and soy milk.

■ Listen and Watch: A Stage Performance by 洸美-hiromi- and Street Performers
A special stage will feature singer-songwriter 洸美-hiromi-, who was born and raised in Taiwan, performing songs that connect the two places with a clear, transparent voice. Street performers will also appear throughout the venue, turning the time visitors spend there into entertainment in itself.
Performance dates and the schedule will be announced on the official website and social media.
