On Friday, October 9, 2026, "YOKABAN in Kego Shrine" will be held at Kego Shrine, located in the heart of Fukuoka's Tenjin district.
YOKABAN takes its name from "yoka ban," a Kagoshima dialect phrase meaning "a good night." It is an experiential event where music, tea, shochu, food, craftsmanship, and the atmosphere of the land all come together.
The event has previously been held in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Nagasaki, Osaka, Kyoto, and other cities, drawing on the history and character of each venue to create a night unique to that place.
This time, the stage is Kego Shrine in the heart of Fukuoka's Tenjin district, marking YOKABAN's first-ever outdoor edition.
Performing will be Ichiyo Izawa, a keyboardist and composer/arranger; Ryosuke Nagaoka, who handles vocals and guitar for PETROLZ; and Tab Zombie, trumpeter for SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS and the founder of YOKABAN.
Within the grounds of the historic shrine, music, Kagoshima tea, shochu, and food will blend together for a special, one-night-only "yoka ban."
Enjoying Music in the Heart of Tenjin

Kego Shrine is located in Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, a special place where the city's bustle sits alongside the quiet of sacred ground.
At YOKABAN in Kego Shrine, a pre-open is planned from 4:00 PM ahead of the main live performance. From before the show, visitors can enjoy a space featuring limited-time food and drinks, along with Kagoshima tea and shochu. A wide selection of soft drinks will also be available for those who don't drink alcohol.
Whether stopping by after work, coming for the music, or visiting to enjoy the local flavors, the event aims to create a night where different ways of spending time overlap in the heart of Fukuoka's Tenjin.
From Kyoto to Fukuoka: YOKABAN's New Challenge
In May 2026, "YOKABAN in Kyoto" was held at Kamishichiken Kaburenjo, the filming location for the movie "Kokuho," in Kyoto's oldest hanamachi (geisha district). The event delivered a stay-and-experience event where music, tea, shochu, and the garden space came together in a historic setting.
For this Fukuoka performance, YOKABAN carries that spirit forward while taking on its first outdoor edition.
In Kyoto, it was "YOKABAN experienced within a traditional space"; in Fukuoka, it becomes "YOKABAN held in the heart of the city," with each venue bringing its own distinct character to the night.

About YOKABAN

YOKABAN was born from "yoka ban," a Kagoshima dialect phrase meaning "a good night."
More than just a live show, it is held across the country as an experiential music event that lets visitors take in the local atmosphere, the venue's character, tea, shochu, food, craftsmanship, and encounters with people.
Set in shrines, gardens, historic buildings, museums, and cultural facilities, places worth visiting in their own right, YOKABAN creates a night where music and local culture blend together.
A "yoka ban" of your own awaits in Fukuoka's Tenjin.
