Hanayashiki Co., Ltd., which operates Japan's oldest amusement park "Asakusa Hanayashiki" and the "Asakusa Hanagekijo" theater within the park, has announced the launch of "A3: Asakusa Amusement & Arts," a new art entertainment project from Asakusa themed "A new festival space where past and future, mass culture and art, everyday and extraordinary intersect."
As the opening (1st stage) of the A3 project, a new art entertainment stage will be performed at "Asakusa Hanagekijo" from January 15 (Thursday) to January 18 (Sunday), 2026. Based on Shakespeare's masterpiece "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the production will bring together diverse performers including kabuki, noh, modern theater, dance, and music in Asakusa, fusing classical and contemporary elements.
The production features a "dream collaboration" of leading performers from various fields spanning tradition to pop culture, including actor "Ren Yagami," who is active in 2.5-dimensional musicals, former Takarazuka Revue Star Troupe musumeyaku "Miyu Sorano" who is currently active in multiple fields, and actor "Yuki Hayashi," a former kabuki actor who has performed in various popular stage productions.

About A3: Asakusa Amusement & Arts
Concept
Tokyo, Asakusa.
In this town where the bustling atmosphere of the Showa era still lives and which has prospered as a crossroads of popular culture and performing arts,
we wished to restore once again a festival that will captivate people.
The excitement and bustle of Amusement (amusement park) symbolized by Asakusa Hanayashiki.
The depth of story and emotion in Arts (art) that lives in Shakespeare and traditional performing arts.
And the energy of this place, Asakusa, that continues to attract people across time.
We want to fuse these three elements into one, creating a place where anyone can visit casually and naturally become part of a special story.
We want to create such experiences in this place.
A³ is a new festival space where past and future, mass culture and art, everyday and extraordinary intersect.
