Ataminto® Launches Two New Flavors Made with Izusan Honey and Atami Salt

Experiencing Atami in Every Bite

Two new flavors of "Ataminto®," a white chocolate mint ice cream brand sold at Okada Pharmacy in Atami, went on sale April 25, 2026 (Saturday). Named Honey Lemon Mint and Salt Milk Mint, both flavors incorporate ingredients sourced directly from local Atami producers, turning each bite into a taste of the area itself.

"Ataminto®" was originally conceived as a somewhat surprising find — chocolate mint ice cream at a pharmacy — with the aim of giving visitors another reason to come to Atami. The new flavors build on that concept by collaborating with local producers to make the ingredients themselves the story.

Two New Flavors Born from Atami's Natural Bounty

Ataminto® Honey Lemon Mint

The Honey Lemon Mint flavor uses honey from Izusan Mitsubachi Farm. Gentle sweetness from the honey is layered with fresh lemon acidity, finishing with a clean, cooling peppermint aftertaste.

Bees are kept in a mandarin orange grove overlooking the sea at Izusan in Atami, with an emphasis on low-stress, nature-aligned beekeeping. The honey carries a delicate floral aroma and reflects the rich natural environment of the hillside.

"We work closely with our bees every day with the desire to deliver the natural gifts of Atami as they are. We hope this collaboration lets people feel the richness of Izusan's nature." — Fumiko Shibasaki

Ataminto® Salt Milk Mint

The Salt Milk Mint flavor uses sea salt produced by Salt & Meat Nagisa, crafted by slowly simmering seawater drawn from the coast of Atami over a flat-bottomed pot. The mild saltiness of the Atami salt accents the richness of milk and white chocolate, drawing out sweetness alongside a refreshing peppermint finish.

The salt is made entirely by hand, concentrating the mineral content of Atami's seawater into each grain without relying on mechanical efficiency. The result is a salt with a deep, ocean-derived sweetness and a smooth texture that brings out the natural flavors of other ingredients.

"Our salt has become the 'bridge' connecting the refreshing mint and the richness of milk in this chocolate mint ice cream. Please enjoy the taste of Atami's sea." — Shinjiro Yamazaki

Future plans include registering the locally sourced flavors as part of Atami City's furusato nozei (hometown tax donation) gift program, offering a way to send "the flavors and stories of Atami" to people across Japan.
