BASE LAYER HOTEL KOBE SANNOMIYA, a culture business hotel, opens on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 in Chuo Ward, Kobe, and the details of its in-hotel venues have now been announced.
The hotel stands on Tor Road (トアロード), which runs from the former foreign settlement up to the hill of the Ijinkan (former foreign residences). On the basement floor are a charcoal-dining restaurant that serves guests from morning to night, "BLH _ RESTAURANT _ KOBE SANNOMIYA," and a music bar, "BLH _ MUSIC BAR _ KOBE SANNOMIYA," that takes its cue from the music culture of the harbor town of Kobe. Both are open to non-guests as well, with the aim of being a place open to Kobe locals. On the first floor, "BLH _ SPA," a guests-only spa with an outdoor relaxation space, is also available.
BLH _ RESTAURANT _ KOBE SANNOMIYA
A charcoal-dining restaurant that offers a different way to enjoy wagyu at each time of day

Centered on Kobe beef, the restaurant offers charcoal dining that is easy to visit casually. Quality meat grilled over charcoal is paired with seasonal ingredients, with ways to enjoy beef suited to morning, noon, and night.
Breakfast
The theme of the breakfast is a morning meal that is kind to the body. The signature dish, "Kuroge Wagyu Dashi Ochazuke" (黒毛和牛の出汁茶漬け), features Japanese Black wagyu ribeye with hojicha (roasted green tea)-scented wagyu broth poured over it, a dish meant to soothe a body tired from a day in the city. Guests choose a main from three options: the ochazuke, a roast beef campagne sandwich, or a vegan plate. It is combined with a half buffet that includes daily-changing salads and more, so the menu can be enjoyed every morning by guests staying multiple nights or for a long period.

Kuroge Wagyu Dashi Ochazuke: ¥2,200 (includes half buffet and a drink)

Wagyu Roast Beef and Wasabi Potato Salad Campagne Sandwich: ¥2,200 (includes half buffet and a drink)
Lunch
Lunch offers authentic yoshoku (Western-style Japanese cuisine) made with carefully chosen ingredients, served casually. The centerpiece is a lunch plate with a Kuroge Wagyu or Kobe beef steak alongside carefully cooked Koshihikari rice grown in Tamba, Hyogo Prefecture. The menu also includes a wagyu rice burger and hayashi rice (hashed beef rice), dishes that suit Kobe, where yoshoku culture has taken root.

Steak Lunch Plate: from ¥3,080

Wagyu Roast Beef Rice Burger: ¥1,980
Dinner
Dinner is a casual charcoal-grilled bistro. The menu centers on charcoal-grilled dishes such as carefully grilled steak and seafood, with plenty of hearty à la carte options including wagyu carpaccio and stews. Eggs, vegetables, and other ingredients are chosen each season from local producers near Kobe, and the dishes pair well with wine and other drinks.

Steak: from ¥4,180

BLH _ MUSIC BAR _ KOBE SANNOMIYA
A music bar for spending a harbor-town night in Kobe immersed in music

Since the port opened, Kobe has been quick to take in foreign culture and music, and music has long been enjoyed as a part of its nightlife, centered on live houses and bars. At the music bar, an original sound system made for this hotel has been installed so that guests can spend time at the hotel with pleasant music, delivering sound that is powerful yet does not tire the ears.
The drink theme is "drinks to savor." The lineup includes the signature cocktail "Espresso Martini," with a bittersweet, roasted character that also suits the time after a meal; the "Fig Mezcal Old Fashioned," which layers the lingering taste of fig over the smokiness unique to mezcal; and the "Fragrance Gin Tonic," which highlights the aromas of herbs and citrus. The "Wagyu Katsu Sandwich" is recommended as bar food. Along with selected craft gins, the bar also offers Japanese shochu and whisky, as well as spirits and wines from around the world. Whether for a drink after dinner or a stop on the way home from work, it is a place where Kobe locals and travelers naturally sit side by side.

Espresso Martini: ¥1,650

Fragrance Gin Tonic: ¥1,650
