Sales of "BEE Kawaguchiko," a base on the northern foothills of Mount Fuji, begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026 through "SANU 2nd Home Co-Owners," a co-ownership second-home service from SANU Inc. SANU also runs "SANU 2nd Home," one of Japan's largest membership-based second-home services.
"BEE" is the architectural model at the origin of SANU, and it has won international design awards. The cabin has been popular with many members since it opened in 2022, and it now appears for the first time as a co-ownership model: 12 nights a year from ¥3.8 million. Co-owners can also use SANU 2nd Home's 40 locations and 250 rooms nationwide.
To coincide with the start of sales, three online briefing sessions will explain how purchasing works and what life at Kawaguchiko is like.

Highlights of BEE Kawaguchiko
1. SANU's original architecture, available as a co-ownership model for the first time
BEE won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 and the Wood Design Award (Minister of the Environment Award), and it is the architecture at the origin of SANU. This is the first time it can be purchased. The cabin, which blends with its natural surroundings, will be handed over after repairs and cleaning.
2. 90 minutes from Tokyo, with nature and convenience side by side
The site sits in a forest about 1,000 m above sea level on the northern foothills of Mount Fuji (Narusawa Village). It is about 90 minutes from central Tokyo by car and about 1 hour 45 minutes from Shinjuku by bus. Sightseeing spots and restaurants are nearby, which makes it a fit for a "second home" to drop in on over the weekend.
3. A second home without the upkeep
The 12-night-a-year plan costs ¥3.8 million (tax included) and up, or about ¥35,000 a month and up (see note 1). That makes it among the more affordable of the Co-Owners properties currently on sale. No cleaning or maintenance is required of owners. After purchase, owners can use not only Kawaguchiko but also SANU 2nd Home's 40 locations and 250 rooms nationwide (as of October 2026).
Note 1: Estimate based on borrowing the purchase price of ¥3,648,000 (excluding the ¥152,000 application deposit) at an interest rate of 2.7% over 10 years.
Architecture: The Award-Winning Design at the Origin of SANU

BEE is a detached cabin designed in pursuit of harmony with nature. It has been open since 2022, and the cabin will be handed over after repairs and cleaning.
- Design that merges with nature: A distinctive form inspired by a beehive, and an open one-room layout with a 4 m ceiling. Large windows frame the changing seasons of the forest.
- Environmentally conscious construction: A raised foundation that takes the soil and the living things there into account, and domestic timber. BEE has received the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024, which is said to be one of the world's three major design awards, and the Wood Design Award 2022 (Minister of the Environment Award).
- Facilities: A pellet stove, a fire pit, a spacious terrace, a workspace, and a washer-dryer in the shared area.
