With temperatures climbing and extreme heat becoming the norm, Daimaru Umeda is positioning its basement food floor as the place to cool off, relax, and recharge this summer. Under the theme of "Summer Cool-Down Gourmet," the store has assembled a range of chilled sweets, drinks, and refreshing savory dishes from shops that opened as part of the department store's spring 2026 renewal.
Cool-Down Gourmet ① New Tea-Yogurt Soft Serve "Tea-gurt" from &Earl Grey (Available from July 1)
&Earl Grey — Opened March 2026
Located on the B1F west "Fresh-Made Sweets Zone," &Earl Grey is an Earl Grey specialty shop focused on the aroma of natural bergamot. The shop is known for its signature "Earl Grey Rich Milk" soft serve — often described as drinkable royal milk tea in frozen form — as well as colorful "Fragrant Tea Gelato."

Earl Grey Tea-gurt — ¥648 (tax included)
A new concept soft serve combining rich Earl Grey tea flavor with refreshing yogurt tartness. "Tea-gurt" (a portmanteau of tea and yogurt) is a growing trend across Korea and Asia, and this is the shop's first foray into the style.

Bergamot-Scented Frozen Yogurt — ¥648 (tax included)
A non-fat soft serve made with plant-based lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus brevis), offering a mild tanginess and smooth texture with a subtle bergamot fragrance — a lighter option for summer.

Butter Mochi — ¥324 each (tax included), new from June
Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside — a Korean-inspired butter mochi treat with a rich buttery flavor. Flavors rotating in stock include plain, Earl Grey, jasmine, hojicha, rum raisin, and cheese (4 types available at a time).

Fragrant Tea Gelato — 10 Colorful Flavors
Instead of water, the shop uses tea brewed at dozens of times the standard concentration — sourced from prize-winning matcha, premium tea leaves from China, India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa, as well as various herbs. The result is a rich fruit-and-milk gelato that finishes with a lingering tea fragrance.

New items including the "Strawberry Milk Tea" (seasonal, available until end of June) and "Green Tea Earl Grey & Lemon" can be enjoyed at the eat-in space.

THE KAEN is a brand by Daiwa Kaen, a fruit shop established in 1948 at Kuromon Market — known as "Osaka's Kitchen." The menu features fresh juices, cakes, parfaits, and jellies made with seasonal fruit, all prepared to order in the shop's kitchen.
New summer items include Fruit Dango and Chiffon Sandwiches, perfect for eating in or taking as a gift.

Melt-Tender Braised Pork Curry Bread — ¥330 (tax included)
Gold Prize winner at the "Curry Bread Grand Prix 2025." Braised pork slow-cooked for two days in-store is cut into large chunks and wrapped with a curry seasoned with 38 spices and roasted garlic.

Melty & Chunky Two-Cheese Curry Bread — ¥300 (tax included)
Features both melted mozzarella and two large cubes of diced cheese, surrounded by spicy curry roux for a full cheese flavor with every bite.

Young Chicken Saikyo-Yaki & Dashimaki Egg Bento — ¥864 (tax included)
Chicken marinated in a blend of two types of Saikyo miso and shio-koji, then grilled with a coarser miso coating for rich aroma and deep flavor. Other summer choices include Ishigaki Island Mozuku and Glass Noodle Salad (¥303) and around 100 other bento and side dishes.
