The Forest and Flower Picture Book Museum Garden Lei in Sera Town, Hiroshima, is currently hosting a picture book exhibition by Eri Shimatsuka, a textile designer and illustrator based in Finland. On June 27 and 28, Shimatsuka will be present at the gallery for in-person talks about picture books and the joys of Finnish summer.

Shimatsuka will share stories about her picture book「しずかなところはどこにある?」(published by Iwanami Shoten) and talk about what makes Finnish summers special.

About Eri Shimatsuka
Eri Shimatsuka is a textile designer and illustrator. After graduating from university, she taught English in Tokyo and Okinawa before moving to Finland, where she studied textile design at Aalto University. She later joined Marimekko as a technical designer and has been working independently since 2014, providing designs to companies both in Japan and abroad. Her publications include Finland de Kizuita Chiisana Shiawase 365-nichi (Pie International) and the picture book「しずかなところはどこにある?」(Iwanami Shoten).
